TABs instead of whitespace

I'm converting PDFs to MarkDown: and I get something like this (just an example): IMPORTANT: This system will not be available on Saturday TABs between words. But if just copy the text from the PDF, I get this: IMPORTANT: This system will not be available on Saturday Not everywhere .. some parts of the PDF (which is a combination of various exports, files etc.) Where to look for a solution? Is there some setting to change and enforce "whitespace" instead of "\t" between words. Thank you!
