The project depends on MongoDB 4.4.x MongoDB uses a non-OSI-approved license. https://elevate-docs.shikshalokam.org/docs/2.1/settingup-overview
From MongoDB:
MongoDB, Inc.’s Server Side Public License (for all versions released after October 16, 2018, including patch fixes for prior versions). - https://www.mongodb.com/community/licensing
MongoDB, Inc.’s Server Side Public License (for all versions released after October 16, 2018, including patch fixes for prior versions). Free Software Foundation's GNU AGPL v3.0 (for all versions released prior to October 16, 2018). Commercial licenses are also available from MongoDB, Inc.
A previous renewal application was marked as ineligible - https://app.digitalpublicgoods.net/a/10302
Here is their past response to platform independence:
We are evaluating an alternate database which is OSI - Approved license, we would like to understand more, since the current MongoDB community edition(4.4) allows us to set up and use MongoDB as open source along with our open source code without any restrictions ( i.e no license fee ). Do you still see use of Mongo DB in our solution as challenge for DPG compliance ? Since Database migration would take time , would you recommend us to keep this application open till the movement is completed or re-apply after the completion ?
