To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Go to Theme Keywords Section of the Identification Tab
- Click on Search Controlled Variables button
- Window opens up for you to search terms- try to search a term and hit enter
- Metadata Wizard program crashes.
Expected behavior Expected the term searched to show up with different thesaurus options
Desktop (please complete the following information):
- OS: Windows
- Browser
- Version Couldn't find
I tried to recreate this and was not able to do so. @ennsk / @tnorkin - are you able to reproduce?
@lstaub4 - can you try Help > Check for Updates to ensure you are on the latest version of the tool? Help > About will also display the version of the tool.
@dignizio-usgs - Could not replicate on macos v2.0.7
Thanks @dignizio-usgs I just checked and my version is 2.0.6
When I click Check for updates under help I get this warning:
A colleague of mine also has this same crashing issue, also has version 2.0.6 and with same error pop up when clicking check for updates
@dignizio-usgs, I'm also not able to reproduce the issue
@lstaub4 - You can upgrade to version 2.0.7 by downloading it from the releases page here: https://github.com/usgs/fort-pymdwizard/releases.
I am having this same issue of the Thesaurus crashing each time I type in a search word and click on the SEARCH button. I am using version 2.0.7. I also noticed that it wasn't able to connect to the USGS employee directory and auto populate my contact info. Both of these functions have worked for me in the past (probably with a previous version). Could it be related to Global Connect?
We are experiencing the same issues with AD and Search Controlled Vocabularies in v2.0.7 on Windows 10 Enterprise22H2.
@ColinTalbert and I can reproduce the error, thanks for reporting. The two look-up services used by the Metadata Wizard appear to be down, these are impacting the tool.
