Documentation missing for setting up configurable input/output in single plugin (1-2, 2-2)

So either I am blind but I have not found a suitable method so far for setting up a plugin to be configurable between Mono In/Stereo Out and Stereo In/Stereo Out.

Since the default seems to be hardcoding DISTRHO_PLUGIN_NUM_INPUTS/DISTRHO_PLUGIN_NUM_OUTPUT's, which would not work well with DAW's like Logic (where a plugin will simply not show up for mono tracks when using 2/2, or the other way around), any tips on how to configure this?

I know there are ways to setup more arbitrary channels, but without documentation it is difficult to know what best practice is here for the best DAW compliance.

There is no such setup, DPF is meant for simple plugins where this is not really a consideration much. But there is some minimal support for extra audio IO for AU plugins, through https://github.com/DISTRHO/DPF/blob/develop/distrho/DistrhoPlugin.hpp#L417 but not really documented much because I have barely used it.
