Cardinal not properly taking focus from DAW in Windows

Version

25.06

Plugin type

VST3

OS

Windows 11

DAW / Host (if applicable)

Bitwig

Description

Using Cardinal on a Windows machine on Bitwig shows erratic behavior when trying to access Cardinal commands that overlap with DAW commands.

This doesn't happen in Bitiwig on a Linux machine.

For example, shared commands like Ctrl-S, Ctrl-Z etc. fail to be called from Cardinal even when it is in focus and with a module selected (red), being instead called in the DAW.

When opening the module selection window, typing does not start the search function as usual. Again any shared commands (for example in Bitwig P starts/stops transprt) changes the DAWs behavior.

This not only slows down workflow substantially, but it also prevents saving (Ctrl-S saves the DAW file), and Ctrl-Z actually undoes the last DAW command. In my case, it undid adding the track containing the VST, so I pretty much lost almost an hour of work dammit lol.

Probably related to https://github.com/DISTRHO/Cardinal/issues/304

Yes looks like the same issue. Happy to help testing more on Windows and Linux using Bitwig if helpful.
