Auto-mine feature equivalent for non-mineral or non-gem tiles? Ability to specify material to use in work orders where you normally can not in vanilla?

Not really an issue there, more like two suggestions I believe to be really really handy for more advanced players that wish to not make building a consistent fort a nightmare.
Starting with the one I judge to be more important, an auto-mine feature identical to the vanilla "Auto" setting that mines a gem/mineral, and adds another "Auto" designation to any adjacent tiles that have the same gem/mineral, except that it is used on regular rocks/stones. For example, it would allow the player mine out entire veins of, say, jet, without having to do things by hand, and without wasting time mining for irrelevant rocks.
Second, I've frequently run into issues of industries conflicting due to the wrong seed/plant/bar/material in general being used in a work order it should not be. While it is possible to work around the problem with some stockpile and labor adjustments (hence stating it as the less important feature of the two), I think it would be better if there was a cleaner way to set it up, as industries conflicting is more difficult to fix the more of them you have.
I haven't looked through the source code yet, so I really have no idea on what is feasible and what is not, and I really apologize if my suggestions are not suitable, or have been discussed before.

I dig that, maybe something akin to the UI of the damp/warm rock mine designations, for one I'd like to be able to toggle off the auto mine for stuff like gypsum and kaolinite.
