Connected indicator

Is there already, or could there be added, an indicator for the state of the connection? Say I've paired a keyboard and then left it behind, then come back at a later time. Looking at the list of paired devices, I wasn't sure if it was connected or not.

Looks like the way to do this will be to start a service when the device turns on and listen to the changes in connection status. http://stackoverflow.com/a/4716715/136408
