Mega2560 as DCS BIOS slave - how to define which UART the MAX487 chip is on.

Have looked at the sample code in the IDE for RS485 slave and can not see any reference on how to define which UART the MAX chip is on.

Have a use case for a slave with a lot of I/O (A-10C II warning panel - 64 LEDs) and would love to pop this on the bus.
