LCD display character usage inconsistent

I see some things that are not consistent when displayed. Sometimes the = sign is used, sometimes the : and with or without an additional space. (From user Paul D)

The current lines on the display (rotating):

DCC++ EX v3.1.0 Starting (or Ready) Free RAM= xxxxb IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Port:2560

Suggestion for 16x2 LCD:

DCC++ EX v3.1.0 Status: starting Free RAM: xxxxb xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Port: 2560

Suggestion for 20x4 LCD:

DCC++ EX v3.1.0 Status: starting Free RAM: xxxx bytes IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Port: 2560
