Why are label hidden?

Hello,

It's more a question than an issue.

On the form labels are hidden using the class sr-only. image image

What is the reasoning behind that choice?
When you start writing, the placeholder is hidden and you loose the ability to know what input is for what element resulting in a bad experience.
