A recent PR for Shader Slots emulation has two screens for GTA III and GTA: Vice City in the details highlight in the main post.
The screen for GTA III has the same title ID but different versioning number to some screenshots from another user above - it says [v1.02] there while the images above say [v1.03]. Another edition? Maybe the game the programmer has is the PAL regional release, and the one above is for the NTSC region?
@ObiKKa, OP's xbe dump is:
Title ID : 0x5454000E = [TT-014]
Version : 0x00000002 = [v1.03]
@NZJenkins has v1.02 build which require a different ticket report status.
Another edition? Maybe the game the programmer has is the PAL regional release, and the one above is for the NTSC region?
Please ask this in discord only, game compatibility's tickets are only to report status including multiple builds of same title separately.
Hello everyone im so happy to annouce that GTA III is running fine now on this version!
[F1D09AF] JUN 8 2020
the bad thing its the framerate i get 4fps on a RX560 with a Ryzen5 2500u
BUT! on this camera view i get 25-30 fps
another problem that i've found its that some of the cars become white for a few seconds, maybe a light problem?
(Not white here but its the same effect with the red light)
Anyways, so happy to see some progress on this! ♥ big ups team!
Screenshot taken with a slightly older build, but the issue is still present, when the clock is between 23:31 and 7:30, and it becomes foggy, the screen becomes wholly obscured by a visual error. Can be circumvented with in-game weather or time cheats, but that's just a bandaid on the issue
the game is actually working just besides that error of the fog and some textures (like this one) but its running at good frame rate and no audio issues so far, im gonna finish the game to see if there exist any other problem
Now the roads looks like should be!!!!
tested on 6350aba
This PR # 1998 (Simplify thread creation logic, etc), dated October 18, 2020, should solve the freezes in some of the intro movies. Please retest.
Testing on df22c8b:
- Opening cutscenes (both credits and in-engine) play at full speed, with no visual glitches or audio glitches that I could notice
- Occasionally, lighting glitches out and over-saturates the wrong highlight color (also happens when going under traffic lights)
- Music and other in-game audio has no notable glitches
- All world and model geometry appears to be loading correctly, including the rest of the ambient lighting
- Occasionally, when debris goes by (like newspapers), small glitches appear. This part does not seem consistent, and only appear for a frame or so
After playing through a few missions, nothing above the issues already mentioned appeared.
