Inaccurate Star Counts.

Open NixiaGDPS opened this issue 2 years ago • 5 comments

I don't really know how to describe this but basically, for most of my server's lifespan the star counts have always been inaccurate.

I do rate demons 20 stars however this was an issue BEFORE I even started rating demons 20 stars, and challenges used to be rated 2 stars with whatever difficulty but I have unrated all of them quite a while ago and it didn't fix the starcount. I'm not sure why this happens, I've tried everything I can think of but haven't figured it out.

make sure you account for gauntlets and daily levels as well also unrated levels may still show up as rated for some people in saved and therefore might still be awarding stars

There's no gauntlets on the server, and packs have already been counted. I had talked with a friend for a bit and he said it may be because of rated levels being deleted that I had completed. I can't recall any levels being rated that got deleted but all things considered it's the most likely.

Also: "also unrated levels may still show up as rated for some people in saved and therefore might still be awarding stars"

Me and Electro both have refreshed all star rated levels, and I'm pretty sure I've refreshed every level I've unrated

GD doesn't automatically substract the star count for unrated levels, even if you play them afterwards. Saving and loading triggers a stats recalculation and after doing that these levels shouldn't be awarding stars anymore.

That's the thing though, I've refreshed the levels many times, saved my account, logged out, loaded and reclaimed all the map packs and so has my friend.

So to add onto this, depending on how many levels you have on the server, you might be running into clashes with the star list built into GD itself, as the game contains a small hardcoded list of level IDs and their star values in GeometryDash.exe and a somewhat larger list in LoadData.plist
