Wild World - Unable to Edit Villagers' Carpets and Wallpapers

When I open my Wild World save file and go to the Villagers tab, I don't see any data for their current wallpaper and carpet, and even if I fill the pair of item slots directly to the right of where the Villager's shirt is stored then load the save file, their current wallpaper and flooring don't change. I've tried this with the wallpaper in the left and the flooring in the right slot, and also the other way around, with the same results. Editing the shirt, and furniture works properly. This screenshot was taken on the ACSE-Dev version using CrossOver on a mac, but I have tested this on the ACSE-Dev release on Windows 10, as well as the 0.4.1 release and it does the same behavior on Windows.
