when i open any type of game save file, i get this error.

Just in case you never solved this: I had this issue when using the 0.4.1 release. Using the dev release fixed the problem for me.

Tried your solution, still having the same issue. Trying to load New Leaf: Welcome Amiibo save from Citra.

Update, located the issue. My antivirus was blocking access to the save file the save editor needed. I am on the dev release. The antivirus I was using was "Advanced Systemcare Ultimate", incase anyone has the same antivirus.
