Bug Report

System Information

  • Operating System (Including distribution name and version number):
  • Ubuntu 22.04
  • AMP version and build date (Always use the version number, 'latest' is not valid!):
  • 2.5.0.6 - 20240417.1
  • Which AMP release stream you're using (Mainline, Nightly or FastTrack):
  • Mainline

I confirm:

  • [ x] that I have searched for an existing bug report for this issue.
  • [ x] that I am using the latest available version of AMP.
  • [ x] that my operating system is up-to-date.

Symptoms

  • What are you trying to do? Login to AMP and show my branding properly

  • What are you expecting to happen? The branding should show mine first, not AMPs default branding, only failback to AMPs default if the custom set branding fails to load.

  • What is actually happening? ('Nothing' is not an acceptable answer!) Mainly affects those with slower network connections, but is an issue for all users; You can see AMPs default branding until the custom branding loads in, this causes a flicker for some users and doesn't seem professional, affects both new users that have never loaded the website with only the default branding set so it isn't a cache issue (and clearing the cache doesn't resolve it).

Reproduction

Install AMP as enterprise, configure branding on the controller with custom logo and background png's. With browser network dev tools I toggled cache on and off and it made no difference, you can see it the same. The effect is exaggerated if you set the network throttle to "Slow 3G"

If needed, I can supply a video.

If it feels slow, it can be where you are hosting. If you want it to speed up, you can upload your logo to ADS01/webroot/images and in branding it would be ./logo.png

Nah, I see what they're seeing too. It loads the AMP defaults then branding. It probably would be faster just loading one anyways.

I'm having the same issue, it first loading default branding of amp and then loading the custom brandings
