Does JPEG XL have synchronisation? I.e. if part of thr bitstream gets corrupted, can it wait for some kind of “sync pattern” and continue from there?

The issue is to support JPEG reconstruction, it adds a special 'jbrd' (JPEG bitstream reconstruction data) box, however the current specification only allows one to exist. Therefore, at least currently...

can you try again with libjxl version 0.11.0 ? You can install it using Homebrew.
