[REQUEST] Make custom crosshairs visible in spectator mode

Open Kruphixx opened this issue 10 months ago • 2 comments

Right now the custom crosshair is not shown in spectator which looks rather odd.

A good fix would be simply moving it to hudlayout.

Moving it out of hudlayout is intentional because it doesn't make sense for the custom crosshair to be shown in spectator mode while the in-game does not.

Why doesn't it make sense? The default crosshair is shown in spectator, the custom one should behave this way as well. Right now for example you can't really tell where the person you're spectating is aiming.

Actually the normal crosshair is shown in spectator mode, to make it appear you have to watch the player and switch to first-person mode by pressing the spacebar.

It is better to move the custom crosshair to hudlayout.res, because without it, it is inconvenient to watch players in first-person mode.

The normal crosshair does not appear when spectating in third person or freecam, so you end up seeing the HUD crosshair persist which depending on the one you use can be distracting.

Even if you do spectate in first person, the hitmaker does not work so I don't understand the value of having it in spectate mode
