Although executions by hanging to death are rather unusual today, a rope or cord of any kind remains a popular means of and symbol for (exaggregated) suicide, while pills 💊, syringes 💉, knives 🔪🗡 and even guns 🔫 carry different primary associations – buildings and vehicles even more so. Wilted flower 🥀 and black heart 🖤 are less drastic symbols for a depressed state of mind.
