Reporting back, did a git pull, rebuild everything and el gato is working... Do you still need the usb capturing? It worked ok, I'm using a cheap "go pro" style...

Ir seems is a video camera related issue. Stream from the action camera worked, but stream from the vixia results in a black screen. I'll try another camera later.
