Thanks for alerting us to this. Development on this project is currently dormant, but it's clear that some touchups are necessary to ensure long-term stability.

hmm but is it currently working?

would i need to use an old legacy version of processing?

I'm fairly certain it should be working! (I believe it was working correctly with version 4.3, last time I checked.) You would just need to install it yourself by placing it in the libraries folder, i.e. Documents/Processing/libraries/PEmbroider, and re-starting Processing:

ah okay in that case why not list it in the contributions directory then? your install directions still mention that as a route...
