Owl doesn't trigger when going to a new link/tab from the same domain

On digg.com, if I click on a link that takes me to a new domain, owl works perfectly, however, if there is a link that I click that goes to another digg page but on a new tab (any of the video stories or "and other facts" stories), owl doesn't trigger. I have to refresh for it to kick in. I have few addons but all of them are disabled because I was testing if owl was incompatible with any of them. Here are my addons from about:support page
