Idea / Feature
Updated Idea (based on the below conversation): Create a section of the CDP deployment homepage that surfaces recent committee topics/actions/events.

Use Case / User Story
As a citizen or journalist, I want to be able to easily find timely council events so that I can be up to date on important/relevant local politics.
Other Notes
~~I think we need to carefully consider the implications of any algorithm(s) we create for surfacing "relevant" content in this featured section before deciding whether or not to pursue this feature.~~
Beyond the algorithmic considerations, I have my reservations about this idea and whether it will be genuinely helpful when compared to a search bar that can present exactly what a person is looking for.
In general, this idea deserves a lot more discussion/critique before moving forward.
I am hesitent about this one outside of simply showing "recent events" and "recent matter status changes" on the homepage for example. Recency is one thing, algorithmic decision making on "what should be featured" is dangerous -- esp for political data.
Side note, I am having a wonderful time (and disheartening time) reading Algorithms of Oppression and highly recommend it, it touches on these topics and search and discovery in general.
Until further discussion is done, I propose moving this to strictly a cdp-frontend issue focused on adding a portion of the landing page as "recent events" and "recent matters" (jargon on matters I know but you get the idea).
Yeah, I think that's a very reasonable suggestion. I'll rename the issue and move into cdp-frontend.
