Battery discharge protection

Looking at the schematics - could you explain what prevents the battery to drop below safe voltage ?

Usually pouch style lipo cells have an integrated protection circuit for undervoltage. For a commercial product, it would make sense to put this protection on the board in form of some IC.

I'll add it to the "wishlist" for Rev 2.
