[OTHER] Support for simple authentication

I'd like to request support for basic authentication or another simple local (username, password) authentication mechanism. Optionally and ideally with support for two-factor authentication (2FA/2FA) mechanisms such as TOTP.

I've had a similar situation. I reckon we can handle it by setting up forward auth, especially if you're self-hosting those IT tools with Traefik or Caddy. It's been working like a charm for me.
