Problem with update checker string appending each rejoin

Describe the bug The update checker clearly re-appends the update message, thus producing a long chain of the same update message, until the plugin instance is restarted.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Load server/otherdrops instance
2. Join server
3. Leave server
4. Repeat steps 2-3 x amount of times
5. Notice update string is sent x amount of times

Expected behavior Update string should only be sent 1 time every rejoin and not appended over and over
