Crash on Startup Win10

Open HarleyGauge opened this issue 6 years ago • 8 comments

Hi,

First off thanks putting out the patches, love playing old games.

So installed Steam version from scratch, downloaded Build 2 of the Silentbully and copied across the files. I've changed the FPS to 0 (though tried without changing).

Every startup gets to the loading screen but crashes out before 'new game', load etc. I've also tried Build 1 and no joy either, same result. I've also edited Bully.exe to run as admin in XP SP 2/3 etc. with teh same result.

I've uploaded a zip of the dump files created after bin out. Would appreciate any help if possible.

Thanks

Harley

It actually seems like some sort of internal failure in XAudio. What are your exact autio output settings? Sound card/speaker configuration/sample rates/bit rates...

Thanks for getting back to me so quick.

Not going to lie, not the greatest on audio settings.

I've attached a log file of the latest DXDIAG which should have the info your after DxDiag.txt

It's probably a red herring, but I did notice you have 7.1 headphones attached - can you try without them?

No worries. I usually have the LG TV speakers on the go but unplugged the headset to be sure and same thing I'm afraid

Can you make a screenshot of LG TV's speakers audio settings from Sound Control Panel? Like so:

I recall facing a crash related to high default sample rates, so perhaps the issue with Bully is similar or same.

Sure here you go,

I tried lowering the quality as well but that still resulted in the crash

Yeah, that looks fine. Are you using Spatial sound?

Sorry for the late reply. Nope Spatial's off
