Gran turismo 2: FPS patch fails in Dirt Event
Hey mate! I was replaying GT 2 and trying out the FPS patch on the PAL version and found a bug. In the dirt races, where you compete with a single AI car, it goes crazy and starts spinning without moving forward. I've tried many and I'd say it happens on all the tracks in the dirt event. I don't know if there's a fix...
Best regards!
It's a known issue, since those events use replays.
I see, so I don't think anything can be done... Do you know if the FPS patch for Gran Turismo 1 has any bugs like this? Or does it work without any problems?
By the way, the other patches are amazing and work well from what I've been testing, very good work ;). For whatever reason, do you know if they have any known bugs?
Edit: I was thinking that one solution could be to condition the addresses so that they are not enabled during these events, since the rest of the races seem to be going well. Is this idea viable?

Not that I remember, nope.

AFAIK not, I 100%'d GT2 with all my patches and the 60FPS thing was the only thing that was broken.

Probably - but it would either have to check for rally events with a ghost, or for a replay playback as both are affected. However, 60FPS replays played back at 60FPS are also OK so maybe this would be too radical of a solution.

Replays with the FPS patch take half as long. They can be fixed to switch to 25 FPS, but if the replay goes on too long, there's a point where the car changes direction, pits, or gets stuck in a corner. So you don't see this idea clearly, right?
Yes, but if the inputs were recorded at 50/60 then switching to 25/30 will also desync those.
