Use bookmarks to save tabs instead of external service
I would like to use a bookmark folder to save the tabs and synchronize them to other systems.
Natively, Chrome already allows you to save all opened tabs to a new folder in your bookmarks. And I have not tried this, but since Chrome has a sync feature for bookmarks, you should be able to sync them on every other system you have.
Yes, but that approach is not useable to sync open tabs.
I'm having different browser windows for different tasks (e.g. projects
, news sites
, development
...) with multiple tabs on each one. I don't use all windows all the time as it would take to much ram. As the tabs in each window are changing during a usage session I would have to remove the old saved bookmark folder and then save all opened tabs as a new folder in chrome. And that for each window every time.
I would like that TabCloud just uses a bookmark folder and then chrome would automatically sync that on every other system. (bookmark sync in chrome works fine..)
Let me do an example:
I've got browser windows dedicated for development
and news
and setup TabCloud to use my bookmark folder "/tabCloud/" to save my tabs.
So first I save the development
window one time in tabCloud as "development". TabCloud would create a folder "/tabCloud/development/" in my bookmarks and add every url of every open tab to it.
As I open one more tab in that window it will just add that url as a bookmark to that folder. If I close a tab, it will just remove that bookmark from the folder. If I close the whole window, it will just let the bookmarks as they are. Next time I want to continue with development
I just click on tabCloud->development and it will open a new window with all tabs opened I had used the last time during development
.
