Extended Command Text Entry Backspace Issues

My backspace key does not work while entering extended commands - however, manual CTRL+H functions as backspace and the escape key to cancel entry also functions as intended.

Extended information: Ncurses GUI Extended command auto-completion enabled Gnome Terminal with $TERM as "xterm-256color"
