@mmeeks hmmmm, no I don't have any notes that look like they could refer to this, and I don't remember the context either... I'm sure I could guess, but who knows whether I'd be right

I think it seemed slow to scroll down slides on the mobile device; -but- we were in readonly mode - and we could have significantly increased the window of slide-thumbnails and/or slides that we're rendering ahead of time & caching in the client I think that's the ask.

Checkout this._initPreFetchPartTiles(); - for rather a simple approach that could be made more complex and improved - particularly for the readonly/reading mode I think =)
