Desktop: X11 QWebEngine / Skia performance is poor

So - https://gnulinux.ch/collabora-office-fuer-den-desktop "Editing text is extremely sluggish" - I get that here under X11 - it seems the QWebEngine is using non-accelerated Skia under the hood for a profile that is full of the above

Works nicely under wayland I guess, but ... possibly we should be passing extra parameters in to enable GPU acceleration ? or to force that. We essentially rely on drawImage being instant / GPU accelerated.

I wonder if:

export QTWEBENGINE_CHROMIUM_FLAGS=--ignore-gpu-blacklist

makes any difference?

Interestingly the flatpak worked fine for me it was accelerated - which is encouraging, it was the self-built that was not happy - I guess due to some older chromium (?) QTWEBENGINE_CHROMIUM_FLAGS=--ignore-gpu-blacklist qt/coda-qt # is no better at all for me - but I expect I have some weirdo web engine
