iOS App: predictive text does not show options

Open Minion3665 opened this issue 6 months ago • 3 comments

Describe the Bug

This bug was split off from a comment by @melo-i-m in #502

We want to use Collabora Office on iPads for elementary school students, but it's a real drawback that word prediction doesn't work when it's enabled in the settings.

My assumption is this refers to the 3 autocompletion options that normally show up above the keyboard when typing in iOS/iPadOS - presumably the request is to have them show up - @melo-i-m can you confirm this?

Reproduction steps (assuming the bug is what I think it is...)

  1. Open a writer document
  2. Click in the body of the document to start typing
  3. Notice that there are no autocomplete options

Additional context

My guess is this is something to do with our contenteditable div hacks... just a theory but it would make sense if the way we capture typing being weird causes this to break

(I have confirmed that the issue does occur, provided that we're talking about what I think we are :))

Thank you very much for your quick response. Yes, it's the 3 words suggested above the keyboard. I confirme the reproduction steps. Image
