Spreadsheet : scroll jumps back to cell when adding values
Describe the Bug
An intempestive scroll down occurs when making a formula and clicking on various cells. (this behaviour does not happen in Desktop app Libreoffice)
Steps to Reproduce
- Take a document longer than 1 screen, scroll a bit, click a cell and type "=" to add some cells above.
- Go to a cell in the top of the document, click on it, and there, the scroll jumps back to the cell with the "=", forcing scrolling up to add another cell from top.
Expected Behavior
Scroll should not happen
Actual Behavior
It scrolls down on click.
Desktop
- Collabora version: 25.04.2.1
- OS and version: Mac
- Browser and version: Firefox / Chrome / Safari (all up to date)
Can you please explain why this would be a bug (apart from different behavior to LO)? Seems that different users may expect current or proposed behavior, so not clear this should be changed.
Hello @timur-g and thx for your reply.
My think is that it's counter-productive. I've also tested in M$ Office and same as LO, the screen does not rescroll to cell where we write a formula. Also, we can see the formula in the top bar. In a classical use case, you start with "=" in a cell, and goes around the spreadsheet to add/substract...etc some cells, we never need to go back to the original cell but only after hitting ENTER.
It's a weird choice of behaviour in Collabora, I'm curious what did motivate this decision ?
