For now the best way to contribute would be to test the theme for various languages. Some of the theme properties are global in scope, but a lot of the them are language specific and I've only tested the language extensively for .xml files. In the long run, we could modify the language definition files in notepad++ to add syntax highlighting of our own which are not yet present in the application. There are a lot of ways we could make Notepad++ more modern than it looks now. A "How to Contribute" doc would be good to have.
