Riftcat/trinus vr etc?

I have been trying to use riftcat/vridge and trinus to play unteathered,

However the gyro does control the camera ingame the display does bot appear on the HMD.

Just black screen with the steam vr circle at the feet.

I xan hear the audio and see the game eunning on the pc....

Any ideas?

Is it because those apps rely on steamve being in extended mode?

Does this mod only work in direct mode?

I'm not familiar with vridge or trinus, I'm not sure how they work. I have no control over extended or direct mode, that is handled behind the scenes in SteamVR.

It could also be that the game is based on OpenGL or the version of OpenGL. I searched a little and found one person said a game they were running would work in older DirectX but would be a black screen with DirectX 12, so maybe they don't support what Doom 3 uses.

Some thing you can try is to add the game to your steamvr library, by clicking in the menu Games > Add Non-Steam Game to My Library Then find and add the game exe.

Then in your library, right click the game and click Properties You should see a checkbox for "Include in VR Library", check that and when you go in steam vr it should be there. And launch it from Steam instead of launching the game from your desktop.

For me it was working perfectly with Riftcat but after a few launches it suddenly stopped working. But in general it should work without adding it to the Steam Libary. Just open Steam VR via Riftcat first and then launch the game(with the Desktop Shortcut)

I think it might be a Steamvr issue

I have multiple drivers installed which may cause a conflict.

Right now it launches to desktop in stereoscopic mode and heat tracking and positional tracking works

but displays to monitor while my hmd shows the steam launch screen.....

i will try to remove and install Steamvr to see if there are any changes

So i made another test run yesterday and it runs awesome with Riftcat. No Errors or Problems at all. Do other games work for you?

What drivers you have installed? You have positional Tracking?? How have you set this up?

Hi

I use riftcat and/or trinus vr for hmd emulation

I have leap motion and hydras for motion controllers

I use opentrackkinect for roomscale positional tracking.

the setup works fine for most native vr titles with riftcat, with trinus vr it used to work fine. Now all I get is a black screen.

Dolphin vr and vorpx injected titles work fine also.

But both RBDoom 3 bfg vr and penumbra vr display on desktop only .....:-(

The thing is, months ago all ran fine...im guessing its a driver conflict (due to the many drivers I installed in steamvr over time) and/or an update in steamvr or trinus vr or vridge that is causing the problem

Attempting a reinstall now to troubleshoot by slowly adding drivers back into the fresh steamvr to see if thays the issue

Out of curiosity what do you see when you enable SteamVR's display mirror?

Either the steamvr home screen or a black screen with a green/blue circle on the ground

Tracking works fine just the display doesnt work

A reinstall didnt work sadly :-(

Hmm...the other games stopped to work as well? You could try it with an Oculus game like weightless, then you can check if the problem is related to Steam

I have Leap Motion here as well but im not really happy with it...the tracking is not accurate enough for me and shooting was not possible for me. Will organize some PS3Eyes and Move Controller for the next test

You don't happen to have integrated graphics on your system, do you? I know of only one issue where the person had integrated graphics and Nvidia was setting RBDoom3BFG.exe to use integrated graphics instead of the Nvidia GPU and so compositing was failing in SteamVR, they had to go to the nvidia control panel and change it in the manage 3d settings.
