performance issues

Seems no matter what version I use now a days I get some kind of game breaking issue. If I use the latest version I get a weird bug where everything is slowed down audio included when moving, which is unbearable and pretty hilarious(not to mention while moving I get a black border). If I use the older versions I get horrible frame drops, I don't remember it being this bad. If I can play HL: Alyx with a steady framerate I feel like this mod should work seamlessly as well.
