Perhaps we could inspire our work from that of Gitpod's, I like how they handle containers (ports and start/stop)

Could this be solved using the [Janitor API for authenticated users](https://janitor.technology/reference/api#get-the-authenticated-user)? Should this work be done in the c9 fork?

@rugk `git` is a tool to keep track of changes in files, which is already installed. Looks like `arc` needs to be configured to use `git` instead of the alternative...
