Single Post layout settings in Customizer - look differently in Free vs Pro
Description
The issue is that Single Post layout settings will be outside any Panel; compared to Neve Pro where those are inside a Panel called comments. Attached examples.
Note: as discussed with Cristi on Slack, this may be a decision made in the past when adding some Pro features related to the comments. So we can take a new look on it, to see if things can be improved.
Step-by-step reproduction instructions
- Have 2 instances of Neve: Free and Pro
- Open Customizer on both of them
- Go to Layout > Single post
- Notice the difference between Free and Pro, for the Comments settings

Is the issue you are reporting a regression
No
I think we can revisit this and decide on it. The UI looks much more cluttered there in the Free version as a result.
As a result, even this upsell is less prominent visually. Maybe we can improve the upsell here more and put the comments back in a tab?

Pinging for feedback @Codeinwp/design-team
As you mentioned, YES - they UI is more cluttered in Free.
For the upsell, I think we can experiment with a more visible Bar, inspired by Elementor, Astra (attached at the end).
This bar will be:
- dismissible, and appear after 1 month or so, again
- the upsell from the Customizer sidebar would still be visible
- on Mobile and Tablet views, this will be hidden
- it will appear contextually, meaning that only in screens where we can use the Pro benefits in Text (Single Post, Header, footer builder, Woo, etc)
- if we know what CTA converts better, between Upgrade to Pro or Learn more - we can use on of this.
- the bar shouldn't affect or limit the UX in any way.
Examples

I like the notice bar approach and I think it would be quite effective.
That looks great @mghenciu, I've one question regarding:
it will appear contextually, meaning that only in screens where we can use the Pro benefits in Text (Single Post, Header, footer builder, Woo, etc)
Do you mean this will appear every time, even if the Header/Footer build isn't being used? And it will simply replace all the Customizer notices or will be an addition to this?
And if so, will those individual upsell not appear when this has been disabled?
Do you mean this will appear every time, even if the Header/Footer build isn't being used?
Those should appear only in the Contextual menus, so not everywhere. As a guideline, the features we have on the Neve s upgrade page (like Header Booster, Blog Booster, WooCommerce Booster, etc) - are good examples where we can show this type of notice.
And it will simply replace all the Customizer notices or will be an addition to this?
And if so, will those individual upsell not appear when this has been disabled?
When I initially suggested this, I was thinking that the Notice will be in addition to the existing ones, since it's dismissible. I still think it should work this way, because the Notice it's quite punchy - and keeping it on all the time, may create too much visual noise. But if there's a good argumentation to have it ON all the time - we can do that.
Either way, the text inside those 2 types of notices (Sidebar & Accent Notice) - should be a bit different. We can go for a more general one in one of the notices, like: More advanced Header options are available in Neve PRO.
and the other one could be more detailed: Extend your header with more components and settings, build sticky/transparent headers or display them conditionally.
cc @JohnPixle , for UIX opinion.
From the marketing team perspective, I am fine with both a general notice on all pages, a notice on the header builder, or a contextual notice.
The contextual notice should give us more flexibility and better performance but would create more work to implement, and track, as well as more work down the road to maintain those upsells updated as we're making changes to the functionality. My personal preference would be towards the simplest option here, which would be the dismissal generic notice on all pages.
I agree with Ionut, we can go for a simple notice, as seen in the image, We can have a more like Astra where it's not dismissable: https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/52494172/234040943-ee3cb3e3-6d72-448e-8ae1-971bc055ab0f.png - or do you think it should be dismissable @ineagu?
@mghenciu for the sidebar, can we have a better UI than this? https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/2649903/234025403-9084239a-a4ad-4336-9df4-d0b8ba8f3449.png
up to you if dismissable or not, not a strong opinion

@mghenciu I like the notice very much, good job. It should be dismiss-able in my opinion, it will be very prominent and would interfere with the design in many cases. When the user dismisses it you can hide it for 1 week if you want, and make it appear again, as a friendly reminder. But being there all the time without the option to hide it, would be too much I think.
I've created a new issue here: https://github.com/Codeinwp/neve/issues/3964 - I think a 2 weeks between showing it again is a good time, enough to not irk someone. Thank you @mghenciu, if you want to add anything more there for Bogdan, you can post in the comments.
