SQL: Do we really need to teach alter? With the limited time are we better teaching GROUP BY and other SELECT cmds
Which module(s) and week(s) does this change affect? Module(s): SQL Week(s): 2
What is the work that needs to be done?
There is reasonable time spent on altering table definitions which we feel may not be time best spent for people who are not going to be DB developers.
Why is this work important to do?
We believe spending more time on SELECT commands and aggregates would be more useful as they can just drop and recreate the tables.
Additional context
We can keep the teachings and maybe more them into "further reading" for anyone wanting to dive further into this and move the teaching focus to the things they are more likely to be doing more of.
Who might need to know about this change?

+1 from me. I think it would be good to strengthen with a pattern of having a sql file to restage the db (otherwise, without alter, it would be easy to lose data)
