✨ Use Roadmap to allow users to vote for features

Open MrDevel0per opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Description

This tool developed by SwiftLee is called Roadmap and allows users to vote for the features they would like in the app. This could potentially be useful in CodeEdit, as when implimenting or considering new features, an in-app section is easier to access. The project follows the look and feel of CodeEdit (or at least allows a custom style configuration in order to do so), and would simplify choosing which features to add in the future.

Hmm, we can discuss this one in the next meeting. I'm a bit split on this. On one hand I'm for it, it can help to get more involvement. But on the other hand it would require you to download the app to see what features are planned and where they are on the roadmap. Therefore it would lock out quite some people. So then we'd have to find a way to sync that with the GitHub project or something. So yeah, I don't know about this.

@matthijseikelenboom I don't disagree with the whole idea around how this makes it harder to contribute to feature ideas, but it says it uses the Free Counting API, so maybe we could also use the values from that on https://www.codeedit.app? That could be a solution if supported - to have the roadmap on the website with those values as well.
