Reduce app startup time

Find out what's taking most of the time for the app to initialize:

  • Set up the platform channels.
  • Connect to the database.
  • Anything else...

I think you opened this Issue to track my report of slow startup in Issue #2 , but that report was about the behavior of the original release from GitLab (not this fork). Now that I've got your latest release 0fa886a installed I'm seeing much shorter launch times. I think you can probably close this Issue?
