Disable SNES backgrounds or move to backmost layer?

Is there an option to disable the SNES backgrounds in retroarch menu? It's a fantastic upgrade but makes non-SNES games cropped (or smushed if using the borders), GBA in particular. Alternatively, loading the background behind the emulation?

Great work nonetheless.

go to overlay options and disable.

on quick menu, save settings.

All you can really do for this is just disable borders in the main menu. It does work perfectly once you do that, though.
