Possibility to extract everything back from already hacked SNES to clean hakchi2 installation?
I have lost my hakchi2 installation on PC but I have everything on my SNES mini. I spent almost a month to make a solid games library and now I can't modify it or update hakchi2. Is there any way so I could extract everything back to hakchi2 for further modifications?
I was lucky enough and I managed to restore deleted folder but still may be this issue could be handy.
This is not issue. It's /dev/hands :-) Anyway, you may download clean version of hakchi, run it, but don't synchronise, and use a ftp client to download all games from your console back. But you still need original core dump in /hakchi/dump (Can be found in Internet easily). Other questions https://www.reddit.com/r/miniSNESmods/
This could potentially be a requested feature, as I can see myself doing the same thing, so I'll play nice =P
as @gBaH0JI9I just mentioned, the only thing I can think of currently is using FTP. Otherwise, if you keep this issue open and wait for a fix for yourself, it could take moooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonths to get implemented and tested.
So it's really a horse a piece.
- Don't touch the SNES Classic and wait for a fix by having this as a feature request.
- Try FTP.
- Start from scratch.
Those really seem like the only options
@Shoothimnow well I managed to solve my issue. So I suppose this could be a feature request that's why I posted it here as an issue. I could close it if it is annoying for anyone.
@megaDRONe86 Nonsense on closing it. I think this could be useful, and very possible to do to an extent. Some things cannot be reconstructed from an already-modded SNES Classic like the OG kernel dump (since the SNES kernel would already be modded, so you can't get an unmodified kernel from a modified one. :P), but you could definitely pull all rom data from the desktop files into Hakchi2's data along with the roms and artwork.
Could hakchi2 save the dump in the NES mini itself in /dump/ as a dated img file with read only attribute? This way, when you launch hakchi2, it connects to NES mini and know there is a dump save there and can revert console to original state, without relying on the dump saved on PC.
