Incorrect highlighting on some search results
In some cases, PageFind (1.3) is highlighting the word that's preceding the matching word.
Ah! Pesky, these sneak through every now and then. Do you have reproduction I could poke at? Usually it's some sneaky characters earlier in the page that trips it up (the highlighting is just done on word position, so in this case the indexer and the searcher don't agree on what word 150 is (for example))
The full text shown in the screenshot above is:
Für uns steht der Mensch im Mittelpunkt. Wir schaffen einen Rahmen
I've done some more searches where the highlighting is on the wrong word and there seems to always be an umlaut character preceding it.
BTW, lang="de-DE"
This looks similar to my yet stll unsolved Problems with searches for words containing German Umlauts like „Büchelberg“, that do not return an exact match. I had to enforce English Language when generating the index to circumvent this.Grüße Werner Am 27.08.2025 um 16:09 schrieb Henri Fournier @.***>:hfournier left a comment (Pagefind/pagefind#890) The full text shown in the screenshot above is: Für uns steht der Mensch im Mittelpunkt.
