bubble-backdrop blocks UI access when leaving a bubble card popup

Open npike opened this issue 7 months ago • 6 comments

Describe the bug
When accessing an entities integration page after clicking on an entity within a bubble popup, the bubble-backdrop remains and blocks UI access to home assistant.

To Reproduce

  1. Create a bubble popup card, with any entity card. Make sure theres a button on the dashboard to trigger the popup.
  2. Trigger the popup, tap on entity card. Click "overflow" icon, "Related"
  3. Select any related integration or automation or "Device Info" (easier to reproduce with "Device Info")
  4. Notice that the HA ui still has the bubble-backdrop overlay applied

Expected behavior
bubble-backdrop should not block HA UI access when leaving the popup

Informations (please complete the following information):

  • OS: MacOS or ANdroid
  • Browser/App: Firefox
  • Bubble Card version: 3.0.0
  • Home Assistant version: 2025.7.4

Hi! Can you try with v3.0.1? I just released the update today 🙂

Seems resolved in 3.0.1 - thank you! Sorry I did not notice the update before writing up an issue.

Don't worry! Everytime I release a new version, there is someone who opens an issue I just fixed. I'm used to it now 😂

I have the same issue on v3.0.3. It works fine the first time I click on 'Related' or 'Device info', but the next time I click on one of the the overlay comes up and blocks the UI. If I close the session, force stop the Android app or close the browser tab, it works again, but only once.

Same here. First time going to device page from a open pop-up, no problem. Second time, gray overlay sticks to the screen blocking interactions.

Same issue for me with v3.0.4

Enabling "Hide pop-up backdrop" seems to solve the issue. However, it looks much better with the backdrop.
