Seems the editor elements get only loaded when other cards get selected than button. So atm it only works by switching to another button and then back.,

Nice find. Good workaround for now as long as the other card type has the control you need.

The workaround does not work for me unfortunately. I'm stuck with this issue and can't really create ne bubble card buttons.
