Slider turns off light instead of going to lowest possible value
Hi,
if the slider is pushed completely to the left, the light turns off. I think this is not an optimal behavior and also not the same as in the default home assistant light control and also in the Hue apps. If I want to turn off a light I would push the button and not use the slider. Like with a hardware dimmer, you can control the brightness, but you have to push it for on/off.
Best regards Hyper

- Home Assistant version: 2025.2.5
Thank you! 🍻
This is a personal preference thing. If there was a toggle to satisfy your request that is ok, but I wouldnt like this behaviour to change. Nice idea though
Agreed, this prevents accidental toggles when using the slider, especially on mobile devices.
I believe HA/Z2M introduced a similar feature, that tackles this very issue which limits the brightness to 1% minimum, so feature parity would be nice.
You always have the option to use the icon action, to toggle on/off the lights.
Hi! Indeed, now that you can turn off a light by just tapping on the slider directly, this make more sense.
I've just changed the default min value of lights to 1, and it's still 0 if "tap to slide" is enabled (previous slider behavior).
This will be part of the next beta 🙂
Edit: And this will force everyone to use the new sliders correctly 😄
Edit 2: @villmatt this will be the new default but you can still change that in the editor if needed 🙂
