[XE] More non-weapon inventor recipes.

Summary

Mods "[XE] More non-weapon inventor recipes."

Purpose of change

The recipe-based class could get more recipes. I'm adding a bunch of recipes that aren't about making guns, melee weapons or gunmods.

This will also add inventor-exclusive CBMs. They can't be installed on non-inventors and react poorly to their users becoming ex-inventors.

Describe the solution

Add the following crafts:

Carry-Hands A wearable backpack-like item that contains a single item. A very big pocket but no weight/encumbrance reduction.
Crafting-Assistant-Robot A wearable tool that grants two arms that increase crafting speed while active.
ThristTrouncer Dispenser A tool to turn any water into a fluid that gives the Hydrating Gout when consumed.
Oxyjelly Machine A tool to turn oxygen charges into quick-release Oxyjelly (acts as using oxygen) or long-release Oxyjelly (temporary no need to breathe. Doesn't help against gases or suffocation)
CAFE Coffee-Adjacent Fluidified Energizer. Recovers an immense amount of sleepiness when consumed. Does nothing against sleep deprivation and gives almost enough stim to cause a heart attack on its own.
Oneiromantic gaming rig When active, prevents nightmares and gives a mood boost on waking up.
Bitebot A robot dog with a bear trap for a head. Mainly latches and drags enemies with its bear trap. You can also play with it, as if it was a regular fleshy dog.

Inventor CBMs from this point.

Their caveats: -Installing them as a non-inventor is a very bad idea, as they quickly degrade into faulty bionics. It can be done, if one needs the temporary boost that much. -Becoming an ex-inventor with one inside is also a bad idea for the same reason. -Each Inventor CBM degrades into the same faulty bionic every time.

Hero Engine While active, grant various boosts based on how irradiated you are. Consumes a radioactive item to activate. Consumes more to stay active longer. Gives no radiation immunity and can't work on the rad-immune.

Ex-inventor breakage: Radioactive Leak

Cyberarcanic Interference Inverter Your contained bionic power has no impact on your maximal mana. Your contained mana has an impact on your maximal bionic power. 1 contained mana = -1Kj (opposite of regular interference)

Ex-inventor breakage: Power Overload

Calorie Etherealization System While bionic active and user above upper calorie threshold, drain calories to increase special vitamin. While bionic active and user below lower calorie threshold, drain special vitamin to increase calories. Special vitamin ticks down over time. On deactivation: special vitamin set to zero.

Ex-inventor breakage: Electrical Drain

Creative-Electric Converter When used, drain 1 inventor creativity vitamin to create bionic power.

Ex-inventor breakage: Electrical Discharge

Book Burner's Buddy When used, the player selects books, manuals and martial art manuals from their inventory. Said books are destroyed and the player gains a special vitamin based on how many books were destroyed.

The vitamin gives a temporary boost to all skills, scaling with its amount. The vitamin lowers over time, based on the boost's intensity. Hundreds of books are to be burned at once to reach maximal intensity. The vitamin also causes a scaling learning penalty as long as it is present, increasing reliance on burning entire libraries for short-lived knowledge.

On deactivation: special vitamin set to zero, so burn as many as you can in a single use for maximal results.

Ex-inventor breakage: Leaky Bionic

Describe alternatives you've considered

Readding the internal furnace as an inventor-only CBM. Eat an entire TV and two tractor wheels to generate electricity then tell me this wasn't created by a mad scientist.

Additional context

An Inventor never wonder if they should. They only ask themselves if they can.

I love these!

I would like to suggest some high-end late game crafts.

  1. Hyperspace Container: The space inside is folded and twisted such that it can contain a lot more than how it looks like from outside.
  2. Zero-point energy generator: Acts like an UPS, but can generate energy without any source.
  3. Inventor's Exoskeleton

Crafting-Assistant-Robot A wearable tool that grants a crafting speed boost while active.

What about handling it as proper limbs? Wear backpack, it has enchantment, enchantment gives two additional limbs, that indirectly improve crafting speed, but also sound much more funky than just casual crafting speed bonus? ~~Yes i like taht guy from Bloodshot movie why do you ask?~~

I think it would be cool, but only if you can't leave it for too long, otherwise it will blow up and destroy anything stored inside.

What about handling [the Crafting Assistant Robot] as proper limbs?

I'll look into it. It'll have the weird side-effect of these arms being fully healed with every activation, but a robot so prideful it refuses to use the same set of arms for two different periods of activity and would rather use said arms to make new arms out of said arms is right in the weirdness expected of inventor creations.

  1. This PR aims to explore unexplored niches. Late-game storage is an explored niche. The Carry-Hands are for the niches of carrying one single massive item without dragging or lifting, on top of being early-mid game storage. This hyperspace storage could fit as dimensional research.

  2. This is a good concept on its own and can easily be pushed further. It'll wait for another PR because I only added a single item and a few crafts as of writting this and I'm already over 100 lines.

  3. Judging by the current armor crafts, multiple items count as an inventor exoskeleton, like the leg braces that make you carry more stuff and the arm armor giving you stronger punches. Adding more electrically-powered armor pieces will fit and expand the available inventor armor modularity.

  • Tired of sleeping? This serving of Coffee-Adjacent Fluidified Energizer is just the thing you need to go from exhausted to not even tired. It won't help with sleep deprivation and contains almost enough caffeine to cause a heart attack on its own, but who cares? It's good coffee, it's strong coffee, and that all what matters.

  • ThirstTrouncer
  • This turbocharged water purifier can turn any water into pure ThirstTrouncer. Even sewage will be processed, purified and turned into the most hydrating substance ever made through clever application of the principes that rule the purification of water. Warning: do not consume if hydrated.

  • The best place to store calories is inside your own body. Unfortunately, caloric oversaturation causes issues that impede this perfect storage. Thanks to magnets, orbital tragectories and your own ingenuity, your calories are now close to you and will be consumed as needed without penalties. The process is imperfect and the orbit can't be maintained without power, but nothing preserves calories this well.
  • A watery liquid that holds a truly dangerous amount of hydration. Nothing hydrates like forcing your body to generate water! Nothing hydrates like ThirstTrouncer!
  • Some of your brillance is converted into electricity.

This alert is automatically generated. You can simply disregard if this is inaccurate, or (optionally) you can also add the new words to tools/spell_checker/dictionary.txt so they will not trigger an alert next time.

Hints for adding a new word to the dictionary
  • If the word is normally in all lowercase, such as the noun word or the verb does, add it in its lower-case form; if the word is a proper noun, such as the surname George, add it in its initial-caps form; if the word is an acronym or has special letter case, such as the acronym CDDA or the unit mW, add it by preserving the case of all the letters. A word in the dictionary will also match its initial-caps form (if the word is in all lowercase) and all-uppercase form, so a word should be added to the dictionary in its normal letter case even if used in a different letter case in a sentence.
  • For a word to be added to the dictionary, it should either be a real, properly-spelled modern American English word, a foreign loan word (including romanized foreign names), or a foreign or made-up word that is used consistently and commonly enough in the game. Intentional misspelling (including eye dialect) of a word should not be added unless it has become a common terminology in the game, because while someone may have a legitimate use for it, another person may spell it that way accidentally.
