Render code in google docs?

Is it possible to have trackdown render inline text in the google doc? Mine is just showing the code, and that's not very useful for collaboration. I'm guessing that it's not possible based on how the package seems to work, but figured I'd check before moving on.

For example, I would like this line to read:

There were 130 species of butterfly

Instead I get:

There were r 65 * 2 species of butterfly
