6Ch crash on brownout

Open yn1v opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

I have consistently having crashes when a brownout occurs. Sometimes the voltage drops to the point where some devices shutdown like TVs or fans with ir remote controls. LED lamps shutdown and then come back. On these occacions the 6 channel board crashes and stops responding. I need to unplug the wall transformer to reboot the board. As the wall transformer provides the input to the voltage sensor makes impractical put a voltage regulator. I was thinking about a high-low voltage cut. The board has emonesp sending data to a emoncms local server. I also have a local server running homeassistant. It may be possible to setup a relay to reset the power when the emonesp stops sending data. Any suggestion?

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner.

I would highly recommend using ESPHome if you already have Home Assistant running. It's more integrated and will probably restart properly if there is a brownout.
